Alpha Radford

 Mrs. Alpha J. Radford, 92, of Richmond, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, February 17.

 She was born August 15, 1932 in Richmond to Landy H. & Clona I. Kolp Norris. Her family moved to Williamsburg when she was 12 years old. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and was very proud to be the first member of her family to graduate high school. She was a homemaker and a great mother who was always there for her children. She enjoyed growing flowers and taking care of animals.

 Alpha is survived by her son, Jay Radford; daughter, Roberta Wissler & husband, Gary; 2 granddaughters, Sandy Barrett and Sara Cook; 3 great-grandsons, Dylan Isaacs, Dakota Isaacs and Jackson Wall; 2 brothers, Dale Norris and Donald Norris.

 Alpha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert H. Radford, Sr. in 1998; son, Robert H. “Butch” Radford, Jr. in 2013; 1 daughter, Rhonda Jane Radford in 1976; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

 A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 24, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
