B. Alice Smith

Mrs. B. Alice Smith, 95, of Liberty, formerly of Webster, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Reid Hospital.


She was born June 29, 1914 in New Castle, Indiana to Robert and Lillian Bartlett Cassidy. She was a 1932 graduate of New Castle High School.


Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and was retired from Belden in Richmond. She lived in the Webster community many years before moving to Arizona in 1988. She later returned to Webster before moving to Liberty to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.


Mrs. Smith will be missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Shelby Smith, of Cottonwood, Arizona; Delbert and Shirley Smith, of Glendale, Arizona; Samuel and Rita Smith, of Liberty; Leroy and Gloria Nelson, of Lafayette; 1 sister, Marguerite Brown, of Jacksonville, Florida, 13 grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Smith, on March 4, 1985; 1 sister, Mary Kay Childes and 2 brothers, Charles "Bud" Cassidy and John R. Cassidy.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Webster Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 1:30 -3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
