Mrs. Barbara J. Corn, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Golden Living Center Golden Rule in Richmond.
She was born July 6, 1927 in Denton, Michigan, to William and Gladys Moystner Bennett. She lived in the Lynn and Richmond communities most of her life and was a member of the Centerville Church of the Nazarene. She was retired from Friends Fellowship Community, where she worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, friends and church family.
Mrs. Corn will be missed by her 2 daughters, Carolyn Winkle and her husband, Larry, of Winchester and Debbie Johnson and her husband, Ronnie, of Richmond; 2 sons, Marvin Black of Richmond and Mike Black and his wife, Beverly, of Fountain City; step-son, Dale Corn, of Connersville; sister, Roberta Overbey, of Hagerstown; brother, Howard Bennett, of Richmond; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Corn was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Corn, in 1997; son, Duane Black, in 2003 and step-son, Jerry Corn.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Robert Malone and Pastor Ray McCrary at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at the funeral home.
