Mrs. Barbara J. Hall, 72, went to be with the Lord at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her residence.
She was born September 13, 1936 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Mandeville Bailey and Hazel Regina Watson Hayhurst, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Dewain "Bud" Hall for 39 years and raised a family of 11 children. She moved to Indiana in 1964 and spent many years working in local restaurants including the Comet Truck Stop, State Line Union 76, Petro and the Fountain City Restaurant. She was also a former employee of D&M. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and watching sports, especially the Colts and Pacers. She was a faithful member of the Fellowship Church of Richmond.
Mrs. Hall will be missed by her former husband, Bud Hall, Richmond; 10 children, Shirley Lindsey, Williamsburg; Brenda Hall, Richmond; Sandy Garrett, Centerville, Becky Coyle, Centerville; Barbie Presley, Hagerstown; Ed Hall, Richmond; 2 sets of twins, Roberta Edwards, Rushville and Robert "Bobby" Hall, Richmond; and Betty Ryan, Ingalls and William Hall, Richmond; 29 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Linda Smith; 1 stillborn child; 1 granddaughter, Rhonda Smith; and 1 brother, David Hayhurst.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Maples at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 24 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 P.M. on Monday, February 23, at the funeral home.
