Bernice Snyder,92, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18.
She was born Anna Bernice Hammontree on November 9, 1928 in Wayne County, Indiana to Clarence & Verna Sue Barton Hammontree. She was a 1947 graduate of Whitewater High School. She married Donald E. Snyder on June 4, 1948. They were blessed with two daughters and 67 years of marriage before his death on August 29, 2015. She lived in Wayne County most of her life.
Bernice will be missed by her daughters, Karen Hamilton & husband, Keith; and Karla Savage; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sisters, Mary Thomas and Tillie Wilson, brother, Jim Hammontree and nieces & nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years, Donald Snyder, son-in-law, Randy Savage; brother, Thomas Hammontree; and brothers-in-law, James (Doug) Wilson and Phil Thomas.
Bernice will be remembered in a funeral ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 1:30–2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at the funeral home.
All visitors are requested to wear a mask during the visitation and funeral ceremony.
