Mr. Bert L. âWhiteyâ See, 78, of Fountain City, passed away at Reid Health on Thursday, December 22.
He was born in McKee, Kentucky on February 8, 1938 to Henry and Lettie Flannery See, both of whom preceded him in death.
Whitey was retired from Joseph H. Hill Co. He enjoyed shooting trap and fishing and was a member of the Gettysburg Gun Club and Richmond Conservation Club. He liked whittling and tinkering. He and his late wife, Bonnie were well-known for the candy and cookies they made for friends and family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.
Whitey will be missed by his sons, Donnie (Shari) Young and Troy (Loretta) See; daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Cullipher, Charlene James and Tracey (Emmanuel) Wagoneka; step-sons, Don (Deb) Pierson and Brian (Kim) Pierson; step-daughters, Sherma Pierson and Billie (Jon) Patterson; 32 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Whitey was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife and mother of his children, Jean See in 2013; his second wife of 28 years, Bonnie See, in 2014; son-in-law, Jerry James, in 2016; brothers, Eddie See and Johnny See and sisters, Mildred Potters and Marie Robinson.
Whiteyâs family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Golden Living Center Golden Rule and Reid Hospice and all the 5th floor staff.
Family and friends may gather from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. A celebration of Whiteyâs life will begin at 7:00 p.m.
