Betty Beard

Betty Irene Beard, 93, of Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Reid Health.

She was born February 7, 1928 in Okeana, Ohio to Perry Wilbur and Margaret Louise Morrison Mosier. She was a graduate of Economy High School. She married James Howard Beard in September 1947 to begin a union that was blessed with a son. They shared 67 years of marriage before Mr. Beard’s death on January 1, 2015.
Mrs. Beard was a homemaker and had lived in Williamsburg since 1948. She liked tending to her flowers and taking care of her cats. She and Mr. Beard loved to travel the United States and Mrs. Beard enjoyed going out for a ride in the country until recently. She and Mr. Beard were involved with the Williamsburg Area Community Center since the early days of its establishment.
Mrs. Beard will be missed by her son, Ronald Beard; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Vanover, Esther Ankrom and Norma Mosier; several nieces & nephews and many great neighbors.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Wilbur Lee Mosier.
A graveside service will take place at a later date in Williamsburg Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the hospice team and nurses on 5 North for their exceptional care of Mrs. Beard.
