Mrs. Betty J. Buroker, 84, of Richmond, passed away in the presence of her family on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.
She was born June 28, 1926 in Richmond to Horace “Potsie” and Elizabeth Kortwright Webb. She was self-employed as a hairdresser and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Richmond. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing BINGO and camping with her husband.
Mrs. Buroker will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Buroker, Williamsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Larry Wilmot, Richmond; sister, Judy Mason, Mooresville; brother, Tom Webb, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Angie, John Patrick, Leslie, Mark, Jerry Jr., David and Richie; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Buroker was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John C. Buroker, in October 1984; daughter, Pam Murray; grandson, Brady Wilmot; 1 sister and 1 brother.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Lutherania Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at the funeral home.
