Betty E. Harris, 78, passes away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, January 22.
She was born March 9, 1933 in Lynn to Russell and Jessie Phillips Defibaugh. She formerly worked as a billing clerk and seamstress in Richmond and was a homemaker. She enjoyed her grandchildren, loved animals and liked music and solving crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Harris will be missed by her sons, Kent Harris and Arthur Lee Day, Fr., both of Richmond; grandchildren, William Day, Rebecca Day, Ashton Sheets and Samantha Noe; brothers Harold Defibaugh, of Hollansburg, OH and Earl Defibaugh, of Bellefontaine, OH; and nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard Harris; son, Brent Harris; sister, Freda Fullerton and brothers, Bill Defibaugh and Bob Defibaugh.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services on Thursday.
