Bill G. Doddridge, age 63, of Richmond, formerly of the Bethel community, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 21. at Arbor Trace.
Born January 31, 1944 in Richmond, he was the son of Walter Emery and Bessie Pauline Miller Doddridge, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in the Bethel area and lived most of his life there. Bill was formerly employed at Hills Floral Products. He later worked at PRC for 17 years before taking a job at Bank One, where he worked 10 years until his retirement. Bill was a member of the Bethel Christian Church. He was formerly a member of the Hollansburg Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and had been active with Rural Youth and Civil Defense.
Bill will be missed by his wife, the former Carolyn Green, of Richmond; his son, Michael Doddridge, of Richmond; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Wayne Farmer, of Union City, Ohio; grandson, Jacob Farmer; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Debbie Doddridge, of Milltown and Bob and Betty Doddridge, of Greenfield as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his half-brother, Donald Doddridge and two infant brothers.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the family. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
