Charles H. Moran, 89, of Webster, passed away Monday, April 23, at Heritage House of Richmond.
He was born December 9, 1922 in Modoc, Indiana to Mike and Ruth Howell Moran. He graduated from Economy High School in 1940 and studied agriculture through Purdue University.
Mr. Moran once worked at the former Atlas Underwear in Richmond. He engaged in farming until the early 1960s before going to work at Farm Bureau CO-OP. He remained there until 1999. He worked part-time at the former RD Pattern in Centerville and stayed active with Richmond Hardware until his health prevented him from continuing.
Mr. Moran lived in the Webster community since 1963 and was a faithful member of the Webster United Methodist Church and rarely missed one of their Menâs Breakfasts meetings. He enjoyed gardening, spending time around his home and watching his familyâs activities. He also enjoyed listening to the performances by the Northeastern High School music department.
Mr. Moran will be missed by his sons & daughters-in-law, Dennis & Cheryl Moran, of Richmond; Mark & Robin Moran, of Williamsburg and Paul & Jenny Moran, of Webster; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Opal Carver, of Richmond.
Mr. Moran was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolores Marie Moran, who passed away January 18, 2001 after 54 years of marriage; and a half-sister, Clara Robinson.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. William Remley and Rev. Max Knight at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home.
