David Lee Baumer

   David Lee Baumer, 78, of Losantville, passed away on Sunday, May 21, at Reid Health.

   He was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 25, 1944 to Charles William & Leota Irene Austerman Baumer.

   David was a 1962 graduate of Richmond High School. He worked as a lineman with Whitewater Valley REMC, retiring in 2006 after 41 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cambridge City and enjoyed hunting when he was younger.  

   David will be missed by his children, Lori Kinnett & husband, Shane, Pat Baumer, Brent Baumer & wife, Ann, Beth Wilson & husband, Terry, Chris Baumer; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Baumer; brother, Ron Baumer and several nieces & nephews.

   David was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 59 years, Patricia “Patti” Brooks Baumer, on May 22, 2022; sister, Sheila Ritter and brother, Bill Baumer.

   Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - Noon on Friday, May 26 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. A graveside service will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged for the charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
