Mr. David W. Noland, 77, passed away on Friday, February 10 at his residence.
He was born in Washington County, Ohio on January 5, 1940 to Dayton O. and Virgie Hardie Noland, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a US Air Force veteran.
Mr. Noland was a truck driver for several years. In Richmond, he worked for Midland Container, later Hoosier Container, until his retirement.
Mr. Noland enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. He played a role in the lives of many Fountain City area youth. He coached boys basketball at Whitewater Elementary School and also coached many successful girls softball teams with the Fountain City Rec Association. He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR and was a long-time Dale Earnhardt fan.
Mr. Noland will be missed by his wife of 46 years, Beverly Noland; daughters, Bridgette Noland, Shelley Meyer and her husband, Bob; and Ronda Ozbun; sons, Erick Noland and his wife, Amanda and David M. Noland and his wife, Bonnie; seven granddaughters, Karman, Kayla, Drew, Mallory, Elizabeth, Brittany and Cathryn; and his best buddy, Mark Day.
Mr. Noland was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Delbert, Dayton Jr., Donald and one who died in infancy.
Public visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, February 13, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home. 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Private burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery.
