Dean A. Dunaway, GySgt, USMC (Ret.), age 56, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 8.
Dean was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 26, 1967, to Ronald and Karyl (Randall) Dunaway. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in January 1986 and served his Corps honorably until his retirement as a decorated Gunnery Sergeant in August 2006. Dean was a faithful and active member of Gateway Church of Richmond and donated his time to the Hunger Relief Center. Dean acknowledged the subtleties of life that made him a lover of many different hobbies. He had a passion for music, singing, animals, thrifting, collecting and was an avid cyclist. Dean was always willing to take the time to talk to anyone he met along life’s journey.
Dean will be missed by his wife, Brigitte; sons, Dillon (Ciara) and Ryan; granddaughter, Audrey; mother, Karyl; brothers, David (Tina) and Daniel; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and extended family.
Dean was preceded in death by his father, Ronald; brother, Dale; and nephew, Tyler Ward.
Visitation for Dean will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City, Indiana. A funeral ceremony will follow at 6:30 p.m. A graveside ceremony with military rites will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, in Plainview Cemetery, 2519 State Route 131, Goshen, Ohio.
