Delbert Anderson

Delbert L. Anderson, 83, of Lynn, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.


Born March 11, 1926 in Randolph County, Indiana, he was the son of Burnice and Anna Thornburg Anderson. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Telephone Company after 37 years of service as a lineman. He loved spending time with his family. He was an avid WWE fan and was Jeff Gordon's #1 fan.


Delbert will be sadly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Shirley Anderson, of Lynn; his daughter, Debbie Marcum, of Lynn; 6 grandchildren, 11 grandchildren and his special canine friend, Babe.


Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Mary Healton; 1 brother, Arthur Lincoln Anderson and his dog, Sandy.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Gary Meek at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.
