I, Dennis Charles Moran, lost my battle with cancer on April 9, 2014. At my side were my wife and daughter.
I was born on August 31, 1953 to Charles H and Dolores Carver Moran in Richmond, Indiana. I graduated from Northeastern High School, Fountain City, in 1971 and Indiana Central College in 1975. I have worked at Montgomery Wards, Beckâs Welding, Indiana Oxygen, Richmond Hardware and Weiler Welding.
I enjoyed watching NASCAR, gardening, planting and caring for trees, anything farming, singing, playing in the local Jazz band; playing at Glen Miller Park with the local band in the band shell on Sunday afternoons and being a handyman at home.
Left to cherish my memory are my wife of 37 years, Cheryl Moore Moran; my daughter, Sarah Moran Lee (Robert); my grandson Robert E Lee III, who I regret not getting to see grow up. Two brothers, Mark Moran (Robin) and Paul Moran (Jenny); mother-in-law, Carolyn Moore; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews will also miss me.
Waiting at the Heavenly Gates are my parents, and father-in-law, Duane Moore.
Having chosen to be cremated, there will be a Celebration of Life and Service on at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home in Fountain City, with Pastor Terry Cochran speaking.
If you can, stop by the funeral home on Saturday, April 12 between Noon and 3:00 p.m. and share a story or two with my family.
