Mr. John Richard âDickâ Webb, 83, of Richmond, formerly of Fountain City, passed away on Wednesday, October 25.
He was born on September 9, 1934 in Gainesville, Florida to Shanley and Alma McHaffey Webb. He was a US Army veteran.
Dick spent his earlier years in Florida, where he served 25 years as a deputy with the Alachua County Sheriffâs Department. While in Florida, he met the former Jackie Harshman, a Randolph County, Indiana native. They were married on February 9, 1993 and relocated to Indiana. He served nine years with security at Reid Health before retirement.
Dick was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Richmond. He was proud of his service as a member of the Fountain City Town Board. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards.
Dick will be missed by his wife of 24 years, Jackie Webb; daughters, Martha Mixon, Sarah Gervais and her husband, Tom; Katie Howell and her husband, Preston; Jennifer Webb; step-son, Chris Ozbun and his wife, Tanaya; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doyle Webb.
Pastor Ron Karkosky will conduct a memorial service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 4 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1600 Chester Boulevard, Richmond, where a memorial visitation will be held from 2-3 pm.
