Mrs. Dorothy Kay Wise Pierce, 66, of Fountain City, started her journey home on Tuesday, April 15 at Reid Hospital.
She was born on June 1, 1948 in Wayne County, Indiana to Willard âIkeâ & Lucille Thornton Wise, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated with the last class of Fountain City-Whitewater High School in 1967.
Dottie began working as a secretary at Wayne Dairy before moving to PRC, where she was a production worker. She later worked as a clerk in the ICU of Reid Hospital for 25 years and had been a service driver for the Amish community for the past three years. She was also a partner in the Calico Cat Co. for eight years. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #552 and was currently serving on the Fountain City Town Council, as she had for the past five years.
Dottie will be missed by her husband, Tom, who she married on January 1, 1965; daughter, Jennifer Goodwin; son & daughter-in-law, Scott & Robbin Pierce; son, Chris Pierce; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Martin Pierce; grandchildren, Parker Pierce, Hannah Pierce, Emma Pierce, Kasey Jo Pierce, Kylie Jo Pierce, Collin Thomas Goodwin and Jacob Christopher Goodwin .
Dottieâs life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at the Fountain City Wesleyan Church, 5600 US 27 North, Richmond. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the church.
