Duane Williamson
Duane E. Williamson, 49, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday, February 24, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1961 in New Castle, Indiana to Stanley and Jan Henderson Williamson and was raised in the Williamsburg community. He attended Northeastern High School and farmed all of his life. He worked beside his Dad at Williamsburg Farm Service, where he ran the millwright service. He was a Charter Member of the Wayne County Tractor Club and was well-known for his restoration and paintwork of antique tractors. He enjoyed being active in the lives of his nieces and helping take special care of his Aunt Jeanette. Duane was an avid football fan and cheered faithfully for the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Duane will be missed by his parents, Stanley and Jan Williamson, of Williamsburg; sisters, Janet Becraft-Craig and her husband, Kevin, of New Castle; and Carrie Smith, of Centerville; 5 nieces, Kayla, Caitlin, Brooklyn, Caribbean and Pacifica; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his faithful Black Lab, Boo Boo.
Duane was preceded in death by grandparents, Clayton and Ruth Henderson and Wayne and Zelma Williamson; and a brother-in-law, Mike Becraft.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Jimmy Slaven at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday, February 28, at the funeral home.
Everyone is encouraged to dress as Duane would have, wearing a favorite pair of jeans and a football or college shirt, with the exception of IU.
