Elizabeth Levara âPeteâ Peters, 92, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, October 29, at Golden Living Center Oak Ridge in Richmond.
She was born on November 25, 1922 in Arba, Indiana to Harmon and Elva Taylor Myers. She was a 1940 graduate of Spartanburg High School. She married Dale R. Peters on December 25, 1941. They raised four kids and shared 66 years of marriage before his death on September 25, 2008.
Mrs. Peters worked at Richmond Baking Company during World Two. She later was a clerk at Finance System of Winchester before becoming an Avon representative for over 30 years. She was active in the Spartanburg Alumni. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and potholders and would always crochet something for the newborns in the family to wear.
Mrs. Peters will be missed by her daughter & son-in-law, Sandy &Gene Skinner; son & daughter-in-law, Joe & Betsy Peters; sons, Tom Peters and Gary Peters; 5 granddaughters, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces &nephews.
Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 infant grandson, sisters, Carolyn Sharp and Juanita Bragg; and brothers, Henry Ira Myers and Leondas Myers.
Jeremy Warren will conduct a funeral ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 10:30 a.m. â 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, at the funeral home.
