Mr. Elmer Andrew Sterwerf, 86, formerly of the Connersville area, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 11, 1931 to William and Mary Swissler Sterwerf. Mr. Sterwerf was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for AVCO and later D&M, retiring after 35 years of service.
Mr. Sterwerf will be missed by his wife, Macel Hatfield Sterwerf; sons, Michael Sterwerf, Daryl Scott Sterwerf, Stephen J. Thompson and Bruce Lee Thompson; daughters, Karen Allanson, Cynthia Cox and Michelle Rene Schmitt; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Lester Sterwerf and Mark Sterwerf.
Mr. Sterwerf was preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter, Addyson Demaray; three brothers and one sister.
Bro. Robert Malone will conduct a homegoing ceremony at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 19, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment with military rites will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. â 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 19, at the funeral home.
