Ethel I. Moore, 93, of Fountain City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2015.
She was born on March 5, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio to Charles and Mary Wolfal Gordon. She graduated from Hollansburg High School. She lived in Fountain City most of her life and was a member of the former Fountain City United Methodist Church. Mrs. Moore retired from the Richmond Baking Company in 1989 after 40 years of service. She was active in the Fountain City Senior Center for many years and was named their Woman of the Year in 1992. She enjoyed reading and watching Indiana Fever, Indiana Pacers and Indiana University Basketball.
Mrs. Moore will be missed by her daughter & son-in-law, Pat & Dwight Fulton; sons & daughters-in-law Gordon & Tricia Moore and Duane & Robin Moore; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, Albert Gordon, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Martha Ratliff and Carolyn Brooks; and two brothers, Lowell Gordon and Leroy Pittman.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, at the funeral home.
