Fola Joan Meadows

Mrs. Fola Joan Meadows, 79, of Greens Fork, passed away on Friday, September 24, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond.

She was born January 14, 1931 in Greens Fork to Howard V. and Vera M. Black Swain, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Greens Fork High School and cosmetology school. She married Robert E. "Bob" Meadows on December 23, 1951. They shared nearly 59 years of marriage and raised 2 children.

Mrs. Meadows owned and operated the Charm Beauty Shop in Greens Fork and also formerly operated a beauty shop on North 6th Street in Richmond. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Greens Fork Historical Society, and enjoyed genealogy.

Mrs. Meadows will be missed by her husband, Bob; daughter, Julie Gregory (Jerry Johnson), of Economy; son, Brent Meadows and his special friend, Karen Ransom and her son, Aurek, of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Alexandra M. Meadows, Robert Joshua Gregory, Nicholas Baker and Adrienne Baker; daughter-in-law, Jamie Meadows; son-in-law, Scott Gregory; step-brother, Roger Swain, of Vincennes.

A memorial ceremony will be conducted by Wendy Canon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. A reception dinner will immediately follow at the Greens Fork Community Center, 117 East Pearl Street, Greens Fork.
