Gerald G. Davis, 86, of Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Friends Fellowship Community.
He was born in Randolph County, Indiana on June 7, 1928 to Harry C. and Grace Kelley Davis. He was a 1946 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He married the former Evelyn Smith on June 12, 1949. They were blessed with four children and shared nearly 51 years of marriage before her death on May 1, 2000.
Gerald was a member of the Williamsburg Friends Meeting and had attended the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene. He was a dairy farmer for several years and drove a bulk truck for Wayne Dairy, from where he retired in 1993 after 30 years of service. He was an accomplished pianist who considered George Gershwin his favorite composer.
Gerald was a charter member of the Economy Lions Club and later was a member of the Williamsburg Lions Club. He was a member of Gideons International and enjoyed Bible study. He was an avid reader who also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He enjoyed traveling and was a fan of Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Gerald will be missed by his wife, Marie; daughters, Tambrey Williamson and her husband, David; Tallie Davis Lester and Tenley Horner and her husband, Verlin; son, Randy Davis and his wife, Ellie; Marieâs children, Melva Kolopanis and her husband, Larry, Brenda Irvin and her husband, Randy; Cyndi Frame and her husband, Doug McKensie; Rita Frame; and Tim Frame and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, Emily (J.L) Gray, Tamra Davis, Molly Davis, Isaac (Erika) Horner, Taylor (Elizabeth) Horner, and Mary Horner; great-grandchildren, Zachary Gray, Quinn Gray, Hannah Horner and Natalie Horner; Marieâs grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, first wife of 50 years, Evelyn Davis; and brothers Basil Davis and John Davis.
Rev. Pam Wooden will conduct a funeral ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 12 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 â 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, at the funeral home.
