Gordon P. Hoober, 80, of Lynn, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 in Richmond.
He was born on March 13, 1934 in Delaware County, Indiana to Kenneth and Oneda Mosier Hoober, both of whom preceded him in death. He served in the US Army.
Mr. Hoober farmed all of his life and was retired from Harvestland CO-OP. He attended the New Liberty Christian Church near Lynn.
Mr. Hoober will be missed by his wife, the former Mary Fraze, to whom he was married on November 29, 1953; daughters, Lois Moland and Lora Simmons and her husband, Donnie; grandchildren, Lisha Moland and Jarrod Fisher; step-grandson, Chris Simmons; great-grandchildren, Dillion McAbee and Kameron Fugiatt; sisters, Florence Weist, Peg LeVault, Joyce Bagwell and Jackie Kincaid; brothers, Mike Hoober, Terry Hoober and Tim Hoober; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ray Ellis and Dale Bales will conduct a funeral ceremony at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 30, in the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment with military rites will follow in Mooreland Cemetery in Henry County.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 29, at the funeral home.
