Harry Lloyd Riddell, 77, of Irvine, Kentucky, formerly of Williamsburg, went to be with the Lord at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, at Heritage House of Richmond.
Born April 3, 1932 in Irvine, Kentucky, he was the son of Harry and Florence Embrey Riddell. He served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He retired as an electrician from Philco-Ford in Connersville after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he worked in several jobs including pouring concrete along the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Mr. Riddell was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Richmond. He enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, traveling and woodworking.
Mr. Riddell will be missed by his son, Robbie Riddell and wife, Sondra, Irvine, Kentucky; daughters Teresa Trent and husband, Claude, Connersville; Wendy Barker and husband, Steve, Centerville; and Sandra Stanley Riddell and Bryan Kirby, Carlisle, Kentucky; sister, Bonnie Stone and husband, Lloyd, Irvine, Kentucky; brothers David Riddell and wife, Lynn, Franklin, Ohio, and Jack Riddell and wife, Peggy, Irvine, Kentucky; grandchildren, Mary Jo Thornbro, Melissa Farmer, Heather Jo Huffine, Eli Barker, Jay Bingham, Josh Bingham, Amy Jo Spencer Riddell, Ryan Brooks and Hanna Mills; great-grandchildren, Taylor Lauler, Savannah Jo Shrum, Sarrah Thornbro, Jarrett Thornbro, Cheyenne Lauler, Jason Farmer, Gracie Ann Farmer, Michael Barker, Jayden Bingham and Aleya and Hunter Bingham; aunts, Rachel and Edith; uncles, Kenneth Riddell, Cornell Riddell and Russell Riddell, 90 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins, his many church family friends and the wonderful staff at Heritage House of Richmond.
Mr. Riddell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary P. Riddell, on May 21, 1978; sisters, Gladys Anderson, Elsie Burton, Pearl Hardy, Darlene Gentry; brothers, Hubert, Jesse, Melvin, Claude and John Riddell.
Pastor Ron Baker will conduct a funeral ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, with calling from 1:00 p.m., at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment with military honors will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
