Mrs. Hazel M. âNanaâ Mills, 80, of Lynn, passed away Thursday, December 29 at Hospice of Reid Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1931 in Richmond to Leslie and Laura Clark Harris. She was a 1949 graduate of Fountain City High School, where she was a cheerleader for the â49 Sectional Champion Little Giants basketball team. She was a homemaker and farm wife alongside her husband, Ronald, to whom she was married on August 2, 1950.
Mrs. Mills is survived by 2 daughters, Ronda Comer and Angela Huff & her husband, Steve, all of Lynn; 1 son, Rex Mills & his wife, Kathy, of Lynn; 7 grandchildren, Hollie Detweiler, Stephanie Thornburg, Josh Comer, Hope Parrett, Brad Bohn, Brock Mills and Katelyn Mills; 11 great-grandchildren, Olivia Detweiler, Macey Thornburg, Brayton Thornburg, Zeb Detweiler, Mary Parrett, Jaxin Bohn, Lilly Parrett, Avery Bohn, Madeline Comer, Aubrey Mills and Brody Mills; 1 sister, Mary Etta Chasteen; 1 sister-in-law, Shirley Harris, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Mills, in 1982; sisters, Eacel Million, Peg Reynolds, Nellie Clay and Vada Chestnut; brothers, John Harris and Bill Harris.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Gary Meek at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m â2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, at the funeral home.
