JACK DEITEMEYER
Jack Adrian Deitemeyer, 60, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at his residence.
Born December 23, 1948 in Richmond, he was the son of Howard and Ruby Napier Deitemeyer, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated Fountain City High School in 1967. He married the former Sue Willoughby on December 27, 1966, raising three children while sharing 42 years together. Jack earned an Associates Degree in Electronics from IVY Tech. He worked 30 years at the Dana Corp. sleeve casting plant before retiring. He attended Fountain City Wesleyan Church and was a member of UAW Local 1363. He enjoyed fishing, boating, computers and spending time with his family.
Jack will be greatly missed by his wife, Sue Deitemeyer; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Vance Graves, Winchester, and Pam and Derek Bergfield, Richmond; 1 son, Douglas Deitemeyer, Hudson, Florida; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; 1 sister, Marilyn Fisher, Gray, Georgia; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Karen Deitemeyer, Kissimmee, Florida and Joe and Irma Deitemeyer, Centerville; 1 sister-in-law, Carol Deitemeyer, Bradenton, Florida and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by 1 brother, Howard Richard Deitemeyer.
A memorial ceremony will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City, with visitation from 2-4 p.m. on Friday.
