Janice Shute

    Janice I. Shute, 90, of Williamsburg, passed away on Monday evening, January 8, with family at her side.

    She was born on July 2, 1933 in Richmond, Indiana to Leslie M. and Pearl Coffman Shute. She was raised in Williamsburg, where she participated in Girl Scouts, 4-H, and attended Williamsburg High School.  

    Janice formerly worked as a property manager in Florida. She later worked in home health care and was a housekeeper at Friends Fellowship Community. She was a devoted caregiver to her family whenever there was a need. She was a member of the Williamsburg Friends Meeting and Williamsburg Chapter #225, Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Janice enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of IU Basketball.  

    Janice will be missed by her brother, David Shute, and nieces and nephews including her nephew, Tad (Angie) Shute; additional nieces & nephews, Jack (Sheila) Sittloh, Chuck Sittloh, Leanna (David) Reeves, Phillip (Heather) Sittloh, Eric (Kelly) Sittloh, Angela (Brian) Cates, Aimee (Dean) Haggard, Chris Shute, Jenny Weisbrod, Steve (Shirley) Shute, Patty Pierce (George); several great and great-great nieces & nephews.

   Janice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Norma Jean Sittloh; and brothers, Marion Shute and Ralph Shute, Sr. and her longtime friend and companion, Bob Sheffer.

   Order of Eastern Star Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Pastor Doug Shilts will then officiate a funeral ceremony. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.

   Family & friends may gather for visitation from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at the funeral home.
