James P. “Crash” Favorite, 60, of Centerville, passed away on Friday afternoon, December 1, at Reid Health.
He was born on August 25, 1963, in Elkhart, Indiana to James Rodney & Marcia Kay Van Tyle Favorite. Jim graduated from Randolph Southern High School in 1981.
Jim formerly worked for Kabert Industries. For the past 25 years, he worked just about every shift he could get assigned to at Johns-Manville, where he was a proud UAW Union member. Jim was one of the most loyal people you could hope to have in your corner. He loved to ride Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.
Jim will be missed by his mother, Marcia Favorite; brothers, Timothy Favorite & wife, Nancy, and Mike Favorite; sisters, Evette Favorite-Isaacs & husband, Ron, and Michelle Dingess & husband, Scott; nieces, Jami (Josh) Keen, Jennifer Hope (Brandon) Cook and Jessica Rae McCoy; nephew, Cole Dingess; great-nephews, Jaxon, Charles and Easton; great-nieces, Sophia, Jazmine, Chelsea, Bryleigh and Keely; and uncle & aunt, Phil & Sylvia Van Tyle.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Favorite, and nephew, Skyler Dingess.
Visitation for Jim will be from Noon – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, at the funeral home, followed by interment in New Liberty Cemetery near Lynn.
