James L. Miller, 87, of Fountain City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29 at Brookdale Senior Living Richmond.
Jim was born in Williamsburg, Indiana on November 1, 1928 to Agnes and Roy Miller. He was married to Marie F. Cox on November 25, 1950. Jim and Marie have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and were married 65 years!
Jim was the owner of Miller's Sales & Service in Fountain City. He was also employed by Northeastern Schools to provide maintenance for the school bus fleet. He enjoyed building several race cars. The number on each of his race cars was 27 to reflect his hometown highway US 27. He was a Fountain City Volunteer Fireman.
Jim will be missed by his wife, Marie Miller; son & daughter-in-law James R. & Terri Miller; daughter Gaylynne Miller; grandchildren Sadie, Greg, Allison, Cassie & Jared.
Jim is preceded in death by parents, Roy & Agnes Miller, sister & brother-in-law Joan & Bob Thornton.
Pastor Mary Ann Randolph will conduct the funeral ceremony at 1:00 PM July 5 and visitation will be on July 5 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
