Judy Spurrier, 85, of Richmond, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 2.
She was born Julia Lee Fields in Abington, Indiana on September 15, 1938, to Robert E. & Edna Pearl Eadler Fields. Judy was a 1956 graduate of Webster High School. She married Charles W. “Chuck” Spurrier on August 26, 1960. Their 61-year union was blessed with three children.
Judy worked at the book depository of Richmond Community Schools for many years. She enjoyed spending time doing anything with her family. She enjoyed boating over the years and fishing. She was arguably the best fisherman in the family. She also spent time crocheting many items for her family, treasures that they will cherish for years to come.
Judy will be missed by her children, Christy Johnson & husband, Scott, Rob Spurrier & wife, Kim, Jeff Spurrier & wife, Tracy; mother-in-law, Ada May Lock; five grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Josh Johnson, Sam Bentlage, Mackenzie VanWinkle and Ashlyn Spurrier; nine great-grandchildren, a cousin and several nieces & nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Lova Jean Stephens and brothers, Robert Fields and James Fields.
Family and friends may gather from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 8, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Earlham Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions are encouraged for the organization of the donor’s choice.
