Kenneth Dewayne Jackson, Sr., 74, passed away on Sunday, September 10, in Easley, South Carolina, where he had lived for the past several years.
He was born on April 26, 1949, to Lester F. Jackson & Jennie Grubbs Jackson Hensley, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1967 graduate of Whitewater-Fountain City High School. Ken was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat. Ken served as a police officer for over 25 years with Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Meadows, Texas, Rice University and US Mint.
Ken is survived by his son, Kenneth “Jay” Jackson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler and Erin; brother, Marvin Jackson & wife, Saundra; one niece and two nephews.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are encouraged for the charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
