Mrs. Laura B. McKee, 86, of Richmond, formerly of the Webster community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, at Reid Hospital.
She was born on November 30, 1927 in Lewisburg, Ohio to Charles and Susie Hapner. Laura lived in the Webster community for 60 years, was active with the Webster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Webster United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Laura worked at AVCO, Knollenbergâs and Belden before retiring. Most recently, she was a member of the Centerville Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting, solving internet puzzles, taking care of others who were sick or needed help, and cooking. Her apple dumplings and sugar cream pie were two of her noteworthy specialties.
Laura will be missed by her daughters & sons-in-law, Janet & David Wunder, Cheryl & Dan Jergens and Diana & Ron Coddington; grandchildren, Jennifer Jergens, David Jergens, Ryan Coddington, Kevin Coddington, Emily Pardo; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard J. McKee in 1997; two sisters and two brothers.
Pastor Terry Cochran will conduct a funeral ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. â1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at the funeral home.
