Leslie “Les” Williams, 73, passed away Friday, May 27, at Rose Gate Village in Richmond.
Born August 1, 1937 in Richmond, he was the son of Harry and Edna Waddell Williams. He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1955 and served 6 years in the Indiana National Guard. He worked in manufacturing at several factories in Richmond including Eaton Gear and D & M and traveled the U.S. delivering school buses for Safeway Drive-Away. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and bicycling and served many years as an Elder in the Whitewater Christian Church.
Mr. Williams will be missed by his wife, Carol A. Ketron Williams, who he married on February 1, 1959; daughters, Paula Gray and Pam Fulton, both of Richmond; Betsy Temple, Centerville; sons, Steve Williams, Cypress, Texas; Tim Williams, Fountain City and Mark Williams, Whitewater; brothers, Larry Williams, Middleboro; Danny Williams, Coatesville; Richard Williams, Richmond; sisters, Joyce Malicoat, Brooksville, Florida; Judy Love, Webster; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Williams; brothers, Roy Williams and Kenneth Williams.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Whitewater Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 2-6 p.m. Monday, May 30, at the funeral home.
