Mrs. Lois Boyd Botkin, 94, formerly of Williamsburg and Parker City, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond.
Lois was born on September 11, 1918 to Charles E. and Eliza Armstrong Boyd and was raised on the family farm north of Williamsburg.
She graduated from Williamsburg High School and Reid Memorial Nursing School. She worked as a pediatric nurse until 1955 when she married Donald Botkin of Parker City, a farmer.
Lois continued her nursing career as school nurse for the Monroe Central School System, retiring in 1990.
Lois is survived by two nieces, Glenda Thomas Crane and her husband, Roger, of Richmond; and Melanie Frame and her husband, Darrell, of Hagerstown. Six great nephews and two great nieces along with their families also survive Lois.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Glenn Boyd; and one nephew, Robert Boyd.
Services for Lois Botkin will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, Fountain City, is handling arrangements.
