Mrs. Lois Jean Woodruff, 77, of Fountain City, passed away Saturday, February 16, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond.
She was born May 5, 1935 in Miami County, Ohio to Harry and Esther Grewe Christian. She was a 1953 graduate of Union City Eastside High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She married Elmer âBudâ Woodruff on July 19, 1953. They raised 4 children and shared 56 years of marriage before Budâs death on August 21, 2009.
Lois was formerly an agent for Richmond Area Life Underwriters. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Living Faith Church of God. Lois had been active in several churches over the years, serving as an organist and singing in choirs.
Lois will be missed by her daughter & son-in-law, Diane & Mike Frame, of Fountain City; sons & daughters-in-law, Gary & Joan Woodruff and Mark & Theresa Woodruff, all of Fountain City; son-in-law, Mike Sanders, of Fountain City; 10 grandchildren, Ethan Woodruff, Aaron Woodruff, Elaine Smith, Steven Frame, Stephanie McCracken, Cody Woodruff, Courtney Woodruff, Justin Sanders, Jason Sanders and Shawna Neer; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen Christian and Ron Christian and several nieces & nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer âBudâ Woodruff; daughter, Sharon Sanders and brothers, Bob Christian and John Christian.
Rev. Allen Henderson will conduct a funeral ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4â7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at the funeral home.
