Mrs. Lola Irene Brown, 84, of Fountain City, passed away on Friday, June 29, at Reid Health.
She was born March 1, 1934 in Taswell, Indiana to David E. and Ivy Pearl Walls Mock. She married Ovid D. Brown on May 27, 1950. They were blessed with four children and 52 years of marriage before his death on February 22, 2003.
Lola lived most of her life in Fountain City. She was a homemaker and enjoyed attending church. She was also a former board member and volunteer at the Levi Coffin House, and a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Lola will be missed by her daughters & sons-in-law, Mona & Wayne Nash, and Angela & Ray Campbell, daughter-in-law, Susan Brown; son-in-law, Robert Thomas; grandchildren, Jennifer (Gavin) Kelly, Shannon (Blake) Wagner, John (Sarah) Thomas, Nickolas Brown, Misty Nash, Matthew (Lacey) Campbell and Michael Campbell; great-grandchildren, Jack Wagner, Norman Wagner, Arden Kelly and Evelyn Campbell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Sandy Thomas; son, Fred Brown grandson, Barry Brown; sisters, Lois Elene Hood, Betty Marie Dillman, Anna Faye Parke, Mary Helen Lytle, Alberta Montgomery and Betty Lou Collins; brothers, Woodrow Mock and David W. Mock.
Public visitation will be from 11:00 am â 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 3, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 3 at the New Liberty Cemetery near Lynn.
