Mrs. Marianne Holder, 95, of Williamsburg, entered into her eternal home on Sunday, May 13, at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond.
She was born March 31, 1917 in Wayne County to Robert E. and Luella Roser Coe. She was a graduate of McGuffey High School. She married William F. Holder on March 16, 1941. Together, they raised 2 daughters and shared 51 years together until his death on March 20, 1992. She held Bachelors and Masters Degrees in education and was a graduate of Miami University and Ball State University. She enjoyed a career teaching in classrooms at Boston, Losantville, Economy, Centerville and Williamsburg Schools, and retired from Randolph Southern Elementary School, where she taught first grade.
Mrs. Holder was a member of the New Garden Friends Meeting, Indiana State Teachers Association and National Education Association. She formerly volunteered at Reid Hospital and Morrisson-Reeves Library.
Mrs. Holder will be missed by her daughters & sons-in-law, Beckie & Ron Crowe, of Richmond and Elaine & Cloyd Brockman, of Hagerstown; 4 grandchildren, Terry Brockman, Rick Brockman, Shelley Parr (Rich) and Trish Crowe; 6 great-grandchildren, Jacob Brockman, Danielle Brockman, Abby Brockman, Kylie Brockman. Lindsey Parr, and Josh Parr.
Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 17 by Rev. Richard Martin, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memory Gardens near Boston.
Family & friends may gather from 4-7 PM Wednesday, May 16, at the funeral home.
