Marilyn C. Helms, 87, passed away on Friday, January 13, at Forest Park.
She was born on July 17, 1929 in Fountain City, Indiana to Merwyn and Thelma Coggeshall Stanford. She lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church in Richmond. Marilyn worked earlier in life for the Dunn Mental Health Center and the Madison State Hospital and was a longtime caregiver for Helen Coleman. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Marilyn will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jeff Mills; grandson, Maxx Mills; brother and sister-in-law, Max and Robin Stanford; and niece, Michelle McCollum.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Marcelyn Ann Helms; son, Marc Helms; sister, Marcia Bate; and brother, Merwyn (Buddy) Stanford.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Chaplain Ed McFarland at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
