Marilyn S. Shinn, 77, of Gas City, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2015.
She was born on April 9, 1937 in Grant County, Indiana to Ora and Annabelle Glover Gwynn.
Mrs. Shinn had worked for the former Hookâs Drugs and later for CVS. She was also a hospice volunteer for 15 years and served the community through Meals on Wheels for 15 years before retiring in 2013. She was a faithful member of the Bible Community Methodist Church in Gas City.
Mrs. Shinn will be missed by her daughters, Theresa Goretzke, Donja Shinn and Deana Shinn; step-daughter, Lisa Murray; step-son, Dean Shinn; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shinn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Shinn, in 1986; daughter, Darla Hiers, in 1996 and a sister, Janice Callahan.
A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City, Indiana.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, at the Community Bible Methodist Church, 300 North 7th Street in Gas City.
