Mark McConaha

Mark Anthony McConaha, 54, of Fountain City, passed away on Sunday, May 23, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.


Born July 3, 1955 in Richmond, he was the son of Ray E. and Beulah Gadd McConaha. He was a 1973 graduate of Northeastern High School.


Mark was formerly employed at Belden and later with Blackmore & Buckner Roofing in Indianapolis. Mark was an avid reader and student of history. He enjoyed working on his family's farm and watching TV.


Mark will be missed by his mother, Beulah McConaha; daughter and son-in-law, Ursula and Garrett Heinrich, of Henderson, Nevada; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Jon Chamness, of Beech Grove; Debbie and Tom Doddridge, of Milltown and Toni and John Burch, of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Ray McConaha, on May 9, 2009.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Max Knight at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, at the funeral home.
