Mrs. Mary Haynes, 92, of Fountain City, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, at Rose Gate Village in Richmond.
She was born March 31, 1918 in Carlos to Clarence and Zella Beard Love.
Mrs. Haynes lived in the Williamsburg area most of her life before moving to Fountain City in 1994. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family, and baking, for which she will be fondly remembered for her cherry pie.
Mrs. Haynes is survived by her daughters, Judith Helm, of Greenfield; Vivian A. Black Marshall, of Lynn; Rosemary Pipenger, of Fort Wayne and Beverly Johnson, of Webster; sons, Clarence Haynes, of Fountain City; William “Bill” Haynes, of Richmond and Danny Haynes, of Fountain City; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Daniel C. Haynes; daughter-in-law, Victoria Haynes; sister, Martha Watt; brother, Howard Love.
A memorial ceremony will be conducted by Pastor David Anderson at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, at The Meeting House at New Garden, 1334 New Garden Road, Fountain City, with a time for gathering and sharing 1 hour prior to service time.
