Mrs. Melba Ann Fulton, 83, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008 at her residence.
She was born April 13, 1925 in Fountain City to Delmer and Ruth Elleman Thomas, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated Whitewater High School in 1943. She married Malcolm "Mac" Fulton on December 23, 1945 and together they raised 4 children. She was retired from Miami Luken Drugs in Richmond after 20 years of service.
Melba was a member of the Fountain City Friends Meeting and the United Society of Friends Women, the Whitewater Mothers Club and was a former member of the Rodalla Extension Homemakers Club.
Melba will be missed by her daughters, Cheryl Gardner and her husband, Larry, and Judy Shroyer and her companion, Dewey Balthis, all of Fountain City; Mary Jo Griffin and her husband, Butch, of Battle Ground, Indiana; a son, Tom Fulton and his wife, Pam, of Fountain City; 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildrn, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 step-great-great-grandchild; her brother, Max Thomas and his wife, Dennisse, of Vienna, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Betty Thomas and Carol Thomas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Joan Fulton and several nieces and nephews.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mac, on March 8, 1999; and 2 brothers, Leverton Thomas and Bruce Thomas.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, at the funeral home.
