Molly Bennett

Mrs. Molly Bennett, 83, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, on Friday, February 1, 2008.


She was born July 7, 1924, to Robert and Kate Lee Ladd Joyce in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Virgil "Bud" Bennett, a union which was blessed with three daughters and two sons. Mrs. Bennett was a former employee at Perfect Circle in Hagerstown and Huffy in Richmond. She also had worked as a home care attendant. She had attended Fountain City Wesleyan Church. When better health permitted she enjoyed sewing, gardening, planning meals and baking pies, and making potato rolls and candy.


Mrs. Bennett will be missed by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Efrain Gutierrez, of Katy, TX and Marylou Kintner and her husband, Don, of Nashville, Tennessee; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Susan Bennett, of Richmond and Robert and Esther Bennett, of Greens Fork; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four sisters, Nancy Purvis and Evelyn Elstro, both of Florida, Pauline Taylor, of Kingsport, Tennessee and Len Crisp, of Downs, Kansas; two brothers, Dane Joyce, of Naples, Florida and Jim Joyce, of Marion.


Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Alice Bennett; two sisters, Margaret Stewart and Lorene Worley, and two brothers, Reuben Joyce and Louis Joyce.


A service of celebration will be conducted by Rev. Jeremy Sullivan at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at the funeral home.
