Mrs. Naomi Green, 81, of Fountain City, passed away Saturday, August 3.
She was born September 9, 1931 in Richmond to George & Clarice Lamb Byrd. She was united in marriage to Marvin R. Green on September 17, 1946. They were blessed with 4 sons and 1 daughter. Naomi was a Head Start teacher for many years before going to work at Elder-Beerman, from where she retired. She was a faithful member of the Whitewater Christian Church and its Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed visiting friends in nursing homes and spending time sewing, cooking and arranging her flowers.
Naomi will be missed by her husband of 66 years, Marvin; daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Don Toler, of Connersville; sons & daughters-in-law, George & Pam Green, of Richmond and Scott & Betty Green, of Milton; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces & nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Douglas Green in 2007 and John Green in 2008; 1 daughter-in-law, Wilma Green in 2012, 4 sisters and 2 nieces.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at the funeral home.
