Norman Lee Snell, 76, of Bay Minette, Alabama, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 20.
He was born in Winchester, Indiana on July 8, 1940 to William Gerald and Iva Mary Barkelow Snell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1958 graduate of Fountain City High School and served in the US Army from 1963-65. He farmed in Wayne County most of his life. In 1999, he became the Business Manager at the MOWA Choctaw Friends Center in Washington County, Alabama. He retired to Bay Minette in 2005 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church there.
Norman will be missed by his wife of 46 years, the former Kathryn Jane Myers, who he married on July 24, 1970; his children, Teresa (Tony) Brannon, Clint (Anna) Snell and Lee Ann (Rudy) Free; six grandchildren, Joshua Brannon, Caleb Brannon, John Free, David Free, Marcus Free and Samuel Free; two nieces, Angi Kane and Christa Snell; nephew, Mark Snell, and many cousins.
Normanâs brother-in-law, John Myers, will celebrate Normanâs life at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 30 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery in Randolph County.
Family and friends may gather from 12-2 pm on Sunday, October 30, at the funeral home.
