Olen D. Lynch, 95, passed away on Saturday, November 20 surrounded by family at Reid Health.
He was born on January 8, 1926 in Laurel County, Kentucky to Charles & Ollie Harris Lynch.
Olen was a US Navy veteran of World War Two. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and later for Conrail, retiring after 37 years of service.
Olen will be missed by his wife of nearly 72 years, Ellen Wagers Lynch; son & daughter-in-law, Dale & Brenna Lynch; daughters & sons-in-law, Eunice & Paul Thompson and Brenda & Jay Campbell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Olen was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Lynch, Sr.; granddaughter, Christina Nicole “Niki” Campbell; and siblings Emma, Ray, Ida, Myrtle, Clint, Russell and Dolly.
A homegoing ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at the funeral home.
