Opal Carver, 81, formerly of the Economy area, passed away Wednesday, September 12 at Heritage House of Richmond.
She was born on September 27, 1915 in Economy to Bert and Carrie Richman Carver and was a 1933 graduate of Economy High School. She formerly worked at the old Atlas Underwear in Richmond before taking a job in the housekeeping department at Earlham, from where she retired.
Miss Carver attended the Williamsburg Friends Meeting for many years. She used to help her sister and her family tend their large gardens and canned vegetables. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, especially Westerns, and painting by numbers
Miss Carver is survived by 3 nephews, Dennis Moran, of Richmond; Mark Moran, of Williamsburg; Paul Moran, of Webster; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Miss Carver was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Genevieve Carver and Dolores Moran; 5 brothers, Delbert, Everett, Emerson, Emory and Virgil Carver.
Rev. Phil Baisley will conduct a graveside ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, in Economy Cemetery.
