Mr. Otto Paul Funk, 89, of Carlos, went to be with our Lord at 1:22 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
Born November 30, 1918 in Winchester, he was the son of Joseph and Cornelia Myer Funk, both of whom preceded him in death. Paul loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of the First Church of Christ. He was married to the former Dorothy Wettig on September 7, 1946, recently celebrating 61 years of marriage. Paul was a US Army veteran of World War II. Paul was a native and lifelong resident of the Carlos community. He farmed most of his life, earning awards and recognition until his retirement. Paul was a 29-year member of the Randolph County ASCS.
Paul will be missed by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Paula Ice and her husband, Ronnie, of Muncie and Patricia McComb and her husband, Jim, of Fountain City; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Audrey Bertram, of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his sister, Mildred Barrett and a brother, Eugene Funk.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Paul Nichols and Pastor Ray Ellis at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, at the First Church of Christ, 206 West Church Street, Lynn. Interment will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, at the First Church of Christ.
